AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

TEXT: Daniel 6:3

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him…”

1. WHAT IS AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT?

Aramaic: Ruach Yattirah

Meaning: a surpassing, extraordinary, superior spirit

An excellent spirit is:

Not position or age

Not connection or favoritism

👉 It is God’s life and wisdom expressed through a man.

2. SIGNS OF AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT (Seen in Daniel)

A. Consistent Faithfulness

Daniel was the same in public and private

He prayed regularly (Daniel 6:10)

Excellence starts when no one is watching.

B. Integrity Under Pressure

His enemies found no fault in him (Daniel 6:4)

Excellence means nothing to hide

C. Wisdom That Surpasses Others

Daniel didn’t just participate; he stood out

Excellence causes divine distinction

D. Divine Favor Leads to Promotion

He was preferred above others

Excellence attracts elevation without lobbying

When God gives excellence, men notice.

3. THE SOURCE OF AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

An excellent spirit comes from:

The Spirit of God (Daniel 5:14)

Fellowship with God

Obedience and consecration
